POSITION
DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Scholarships & Student Financial Assistance SITE: Various
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: B
BASIC FUNCTION:
Assists the Director of Scholarships and Student Financial Assistance in supervising the financial aid and Veterans Affairs functions for the College on a campus.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Functions
as principal financial aid contact on a campus.
v
Assists
in developing and administering budget for specific areas supervised.
v
Directs
and evaluates Financial Aid employees under immediate supervision.
v
Assists
in coordinating the Scholarships, Student Financial Assistance and Veterans
Affairs programs, including scholarships, loans, grants and related projects.
v
Supervises
and assists Financial Aid Officers in providing service.
v
Functions
as Financial Aid and Veterans Affairs liaison internally and externally on
college behalf.
v
Counsels
students in financial aid matters.
v
Monitors
academic progress of recipients of financial assistance.
v
Prepares
reports relating to financial aid area.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, plus appropriate coursework. Master's degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years with some background in college financial aid work. Training in college counseling, business administration, accounting and data processing beneficial.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of financial aid
procedures and policies. Knowledge of the laws regulating awarding of financial
assistance. Ability to interact with students and staff. Management skills.
