POSITION DESCRIPTION
DEPARTMENT: Accounting
SITE: SPG
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P
- GRADE:
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the
administration of the SPG business office operations inclusive of various
collegewide student accounting functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Promotes
team spirit with staff, internal and external customers.
v
Provides
and promotes excellent customer service practices.
v
Coordinates
and directs personnel to provide for the maximum utilization of these resources
during the scheduled work hours.
v
Maintains
adequate, accurate and current written procedures and documentation for all
functions of the SPG business office.
v
Oversees
session fee audits with associated corrections or billings/collections for the
campus.
v
Assures
the completion of certain collegewide student accounting tasks including
billings, monthly sales tax reports, due to-due from account reconciliation and
transfers, credit bank journal entries, processing student fee transfer and
refunds form requests, and College Work Study Program transfers.
v
Evaluates
employee performance and recommends personnel actions.
v
Trains
and assists personnel in the specialized tasks assigned.
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in
Business Administration or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years experience
in accounting. Supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
High degree of accuracy and
organization. Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures. Proficient
computer and calculator skills required. Good oral and written communication
skills. Customer service oriented.
