BASIC FUNCTION:
Administers the campus
admissions, registration, graduation, and student record maintenance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v
Directs
the Admissions process, including verification of Florida Residency status.
v
Directs
the campus admissions and registration.
v
Develops
and administers programs for collecting and changing student grades, and
reporting these via official transcripts of grades and credits earned.
v
Maintains
legal procedures for safety, security and confidentiality of student files and
registration records.
v
Advises
students regarding general education requirements, graduation requirements, and
college residency requirements.
v
Determines
which of the applicants for graduation satisfy the requirements for graduation.
v
Devises
innovative techniques to provide efficient registration.
v
Processes
dual enrollment (transient status) for students needing to attend another
institution without interrupting SPC residency.
v
Prepares
and certifies attendance records and student load status for governmental
agencies, lending institutions, and employers.
v
Serves
as chairperson of the Campus Committee on Academic Appeals and participates as
a member of other college committees.
v
Sets
goals and implements activities to accomplish goals for campus admissions and
records.
v
Develops
and administers budget for campus admissions and records.
v
Recommends
hiring, trains, directs, and evaluates all personnel in campus admissions and
records.
v
Handles
grievances under immediate supervision.
v
Receives
grade and attendance sheets and forwards to Data Systems.
v
Processes
SPC transcripts (hard copy).
v
Performs
related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years in student
records, registration, or related data analysis field.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of SPC BOT Rules
and Florida Statutes that apply to graduation and residency. Knowledge of
computer usage. Knowledge of the total process involved in admissions and
records. Written and verbal communication skills. Ability to establish and maintain
working relationships with students and the public. Human relations skills.
Customer relation skills. Ability to supervise a large clerical staff.
