POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Student Support Services
DEPARTMENT: Provost - Special Programs & International Education SITE: Various
SALARY SCHEDULE: A&P GRADE: C
BASIC FUNCTION:
Responsible for the overall implementation and management of the Student Support Services Program which will provide economically disadvantaged, first generation students who have an identified need for academic, social and financial support with the services that will enable them to complete their preferred degree program at the college, transfer in good standing to a university, and as a result of participation in the program, become efficacious learners and independent adults.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Master’s degree in Counseling or a Master’s degree including 18 graduate hours in Counseling.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum of two years experience working with academically at-risk college students. Experience with management and coordination of programs at the postsecondary level. Experience in designing, managing or implementing Student Support Services or similar projects preferred. Understanding of grant-funded projects’ reporting requirements. Familiarity with general rules of accounting, purchasing and personnel policies. Prior supervisory experience.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of computer applications desirable; evidence of good communication, interpersonal and administrative skills. Evidence of having overcome disadvantages (e.g., disability, first generation in college, financial need, academically at risk, or other barriers) similar to the population being served required.
