POSITION DESCRIPTION

Plans and coordinates
selected Distance Learning initiatives, projects and activities under the
direction of the Program Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
v Plans, develops, and coordinates instructional noncredit and/or college credit programs.
v
Coordinates
procedures and policies for programs and projects and/or instructional
programs:
Ø Via a variety of media and technologies, including the production of television, audio, and video programming; video conferencing; and web technologies or
Ø Via a variety of technological delivery systems including software imbedded training and the development of the web site, web pages, web repository, portals, and web-based training as well as being responsible for planning and managing the incorporation of technological systems.
v Manages the division, projects, and technical staff.
v Recommends hiring adjunct technical personnel/subject matter experts and directs and evaluates personnel.
v Recommends policy and direction for selected distance learning initiatives (in the areas of instructional television, telecourse, and teleconferencing or in the areas of technology-based distance learning initiatives), and works with other departments and entitles as assigned in forgoing distance learning and other technology-mediated instructional partnerships.
v Provides direction and leadership for enhancing distance learning alternatives and the identification of resources required.
v Assists Program Director in staying within project budget requirements.
v Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in
a related field.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years experience
in some phase of distance learning, technology management and/or curriculum
development required. Proven project management experience required. Experience
in an emergency management field preferred.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL
REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent verbal and
written communication skills as well as leadership, problem solving and team
building skills.
