POSITION TITLE: Landscaper

SALARY SCHEDULE: Career - GRADE: 1

BASIC FUNCTION:

Performs care and maintenance of college grounds, lawns, parking lots and irrigation systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operates tractor, attached implements and all other types of groundskeeping equipment in mowing, planting, water and pruning functions.
• Performs preventative maintenance on equipment (oiling, lubricating and inspecting).
• Landscapes college site area. Disposes of dead shrubs, trees, bushes; trims, prunes, waters, etc.
• Treats turf, plants and trees for pests and diseases. Applies pesticides and fertilizer.
• Performs outdoor physical labor in varying weather conditions.
• Cleans parking lots and walkways.
• Provides scheduled preventative maintenance service and makes repairs to irrigation systems.
• Performs duties related to landscaping function as required.
• Performs related duties as required.

Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an acceptable equivalency diploma.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

One (1) year experience in landscaping.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of landscaping equipment and tools. Knowledge of the care of plants and trees. Basic knowledge of small engines. Ability to learn Right-To-Know law. Ability to operate tractors, mowers, spray rigs and other grounds maintenance equipment. Ability to pass a post qualification physical examination. CDL Class "D" Florida Driver's License
