POSITION TITLE: Project Technologist

BASIC FUNCTION:

A team member that designs and develops new and enhanced computer, multimedia, and related technologies focusing on varying aspects. Works under Technical Project Manager in enhancing a distance learning program in a team environment to advance the development of technology-enhanced curriculum, courses and instructional programs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Contributes expertise in developing and maintaining technological projects.
• Assists in the development of customized training materials and training modules in a variety of technological delivery systems including software imbedded training web-based tutorials and classroom training.
• Assists Technical Project Manager in creating and maintaining specialized data, records and reports relating to the program.
• Assists the clients, faculty and staff by providing information concerning the project or services of the project.
• Assists with the development of training videos, CD ROMS, and multimedia delivery modes.
• Assists in the development of web site, web pages with links, web repository, portals, web based training for both unclassified and classified environments.
• Attends meetings, seminars and conferences to explain or receive information relative to the projects.
• Interacts with clients in identifying problems, assessing educational needs and developing courses and programs.
• Assists Technical Project Manager in creating an over-arching technological plan to incorporate all compatible technological systems.
• Responsible for assuring college rules, regulations and applicable laws are followed.
• Performs related duties as required.

Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years of technology skills in design and development and enhancement of computer software and systems including multimedia and related technology.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Advanced computer skills in multimedia environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to function in a team environment with other technical staff. Must be able to work in a team environment. Grant experience preferred.
