POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE:
Technology Project Manager
DEPARTMENT: Provost’s
Office SITE: SEM
SALARY SCHEDULE:
Technical GRADE: 4
BASIC FUNCTIONS:
Working manager of a team
that designs and develops new and enhanced computer, multimedia, and related
technologies focusing on varying aspects. Provides direction and leadership for
enhancing technology presentations. Provides a leadership role in a team model
environment to advance the development of technology-enhanced curriculum,
courses and instructional programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manages and does the higher-end work on technological
projects and coordinates project work with other Campus technical staff.
- Coordinates and assists in the development of customized
materials and training modules in a variety of technological delivery systems
including classroom training and the operation of the Digitorium for Campus
events.
- Creates and maintains specialized data, records and
reports relating to campus technology programs.
- Assists the clients, faculty and staff by providing
information concerning the campus technology services.
- Assists with the development of training videos, CD
ROMS, and multimedia delivery modes.
- Works directly and coordinates the work of others on the
campus interactive classrooms and related technologies.
- Attends meetings, seminars and conferences to explain or
receive information relative to technology initiatives campus and collegewide.
- Interacts with faculty and staff in identifying
problems, assessing educational needs and developing programs and activities.
- Takes responsibility for creating a campus technology
plan congruent with the overall college plan, and to incorporate all
compatible technological systems, inventory campus needs, and prepare analyses
and requests for cost-effective and cost-saving equipment software and
materials purchases.
- Takes responsibility for assuring college rules,
regulations and applicable laws are followed.
- Performs related duties as required.
EDUCATIONAL
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree, Master's
degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years of
technology skills in design and development and enhancement of computer software
and systems including multimedia and related technology.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent written and verbal
communication skills. Ability to function as a lead worker over other technical
staff. Must be able to work in a team environment.
