This course will demonstrate how to: Download your pictures from the camera to the computer. Set up a simple filing system to help you organize and sort your pictures. Get your pictures ready for e-mail. Burn your pictures to a CD for safekeeping. Use your own pictures as a screensaver.

This course is an introduction to image editing, collages, and presentations. In this course, students will: Work on computer images and learn how to improve them. Learn to adjust the exposure, contrast and color. Make the image sepia or black-and-white. Retouch the image, remove blemishes and enhance features. Make the image black-and-white with color.
Learn how to make composite images or collages.
Learn how to make special edges, borders and frames.
This is a hands-on, project-based course. |

AAP0814 Portrait/Children & Family Photography Using a Digital Camera |

This course will cover: The fundamentals of posing, composition and lightning. How to take interesting and flattering portraits of individuals, couples, families and groups.
How to set up a natural light studio. How to take candid portraits. How to use the light for dramatic portraits. Professional techniques for getting relaxed and comfortable poses.
There will be assignments, demonstrations, explanations and in-class projects.
You will learn to take better pictures of the family at holidays, get-togethers and vacations. |

This is a basic photography course focusing on the use of digital cameras, taught by professional photographer Jay Marino. This course will help you:
Learn the features of your camera, what they're used for, and how they will help you take a better picture. Learn the basics of good composition and good lightning.
Learn what makes a good picture.
There will be assignments, demonstrations, explanations, and in-class projects. Bring your camera, the manual and fresh batteries to the class. You will learn to get comfortable with your camera and the manual. |

AAP0818 Digital Photography II – Getting Creative! |

This course focuses on steps to call attention to your subject and make your images more interesting. Students will learn how to: Use compositional techniques such as leading lines, linear perspective, converging lines and framing. Create special effects with wide-angle and zoom lens. Differentiate between shape and form. Make pictures more dynamic. Guide the viewer's eye.
There will be assignments, demonstrations, explanations and in-class projects.

AAP0818 On the Road Again! Travel Photography |

This course will cover how to: Add more impact to your photographs of people, buildings, shopping areas, restaurants, outdoor sculptures and landscapes. Use perspective, framing and composition. Develop a storyline and make a slide show.
There will be assignments, demonstrations, explanations and in-class projects. Learn how to make vacation photography more interesting. |

This basic class teaches the essentials of editing, sizing,
retouching and printing using the Photoshop Elements
program. NOTE: The student needs to have basic computer
skills with knowledge of MS Word and Windows. |

AAP0821 Fundamentals of Photoshop Elements II |
|
|
This is an advanced course concentrating on the use of the
Photoshop Elements 6 software program. Among the topics
are: selection techniques, retouching portraits, photographic
special effects, photo restoration techniques, sharpening
photos, printing and making presentations with your photos. |
