POSITION TITLE: Analyst/Programmer-IBS

BASIC FUNCTION:

Designs and develops new or enhanced computer systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works with all levels of college personnel in the analysis and design of Internet-based systems.
• Works closely with technical, artistic, and editorial and instructional staff of the college to develop and maintain a cohesive internet-based system of college services.
• Works to web-enable transaction processing systems, database information systems, interactive online teaching systems, college art, image and document collections and other systems used by students, faculty and staff.
• Develops and implements object relational database-driven web systems and forms.
• Codes and implements various CGI functions.
• Works as directed in the continual effort to employ effectively emerging internet-based technologies in support of college needs.
• Performs related duties as required.

College-level training certificate in Internet-based computer programming or an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems or closely related field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Two (2) years extensive programming experience to include SQL-language database design, CGI programming with a language such as Java or PERL. In lieu of appropriate educational requirements a minimum of five (5) years programming and system development including database design, database access techniques of microcomputer application design.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Very thorough, systematic, and detail-oriented. Familiar with general office software applications, including spreadsheets and databases. Customer service orientation. Ability to relate to both technical and non-technical people on issues of web-based system design, development, and maintenance. Ability to design web systems that function equally well on a variety of platforms. Ability to design and implement database-driven web forms and systems. Graphic design skills a plus.
