POSITION TITLE: Coordinator, Information

DEPARTMENT: Institutional Advancement     SITE: DO

SALARY SCHEDULE: Career Service              GRADE: 7

BASIC FUNCTION:

Plans, coordinates and administers a phase of the college information services program to advance the institutional objectives. Employees assigned to this classification function in a specific program of institutional advancement or may be assigned projects that involve several areas.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations or related communications field.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years experience in the mass media/mass communications, public information, or related field.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the college programs and objectives. Knowledge of the admissions policies and procedures of the college. Knowledge of modern information, communications and journalism practices and techniques. Ability to research topics, organize information and make presentations. Ability to make public presentations relating to the college. Skill in writing and editing. Ability to communicate effectively using speech and hearing skills. Ability to establish and maintain communications with the media, public and college staff. Knowledge of sentence structure and word usage. Interpersonal skills. Skill in reading comprehension and proofreading. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
