POSITION TITLE: Manager, Graphics Services

BASIC FUNCTION:

Manages, coordinates and produces artwork and graphics for the collegewide graphics function from concept through finished product.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Responsible for managing the collegewide production of graphics and artwork from concept through finished product.
• Coordinates design concept for all projects including assignment and supervision of design work done by graphics team.
• Creates design and production art by both computer and traditional graphics methods.
• Establishes standards and procedures for new and on-going projects.
• Meets with representatives of departments within the College to establish their graphics needs and define needs into actual projects.
• Creates detailed specifications for graphics jobs. Prepares computer graphics for conversion to negatives/plates.
• Proofs/approves art that comes from other sources within the college.
• Assists the Director in establishing marketing campaigns, production process and time lines.
• Performs related duties as required.

AA degree in Graphics Design.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Five (5) experience in production art and graphics design including two (2) years in printing related art, desk top publishing and graphics. Some supervisory experience.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

Knowledge of the practices involved in graphics and graphic art. Knowledge of computer graphics and page layout. Knowledge of computer software used in the graphics arts field. Knowledge of the techniques used in graphic arts. Creative ability. Ability to design art projects. Ability to operate a computer. Ability to begin and complete projects. Drafting skills.
