POSITION TITLE: Project Activities Specialist (Americorps Grant)

SALARY SCHEDULE: Senior Career - GRADE: 6

BASIC FUNCTION:

Coordinates the program of student/community service worker activities at the Clearwater or St. Petersburg Police Department and in those departments’ community policing neighborhoods to fulfill the objectives of the grant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversees the day-to-day administrative functions of the project.
• Establishes Resident Advisory Boards and Youth Councils.
• Serves as liaison with grant Project Coordinator.
• Prepares reports of activities.
• Documents problems encountered and solutions devised.
• Provides statistical data to Project Coordinator and Project Evaluator as required.
• Works closely with police department community policing supervisors.
• Attends meetings and functions.
• Performs related duties as required.

Associate's degree.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four (4) years experience in project supervision and/or coordination.

KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge of basic law enforcement. Knowledge of local social service agencies. Ability to speak before a group of people. Ability to supervise other persons. Communication and public relations skills. Organizational skills. Knowledge of IBM and Macintosh computers and related applications, i.e., Word Perfect and Microsoft Word. Knowledge of sentence structure. Knowledge of word usage. Skill in reading comprehension and proofreading. Knowledge of basic mathematics.
