POSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE: Systems Analyst – Learning Management Systems
DEPARTMENT: Information Systems SITE: DO
SALARY SCHEDULE: Technical GRADE: 4
BASIC FUNCTION:
Provides analysis, design, configuration, testing, implementation, documentation and staff training for software that includes or supports operating systems, file and application servers, databases and network environments as it applies to the Learning Management Systems. Essential job functions also include all tasks assigned to the Analyst/Programmer classification.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs related duties as required and assigned.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Three (3) years systems administration experience, to include systems software, network (LAN and WAN), database administration experience. One (1) year administering
Windows Server 2003 in an enterprise/production environment. Experience configuring Internet Information Server (IIS) in a production environment.
KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge of Angel Learning Management System, Academic Systems, and other academic based systems. Knowledge of database/file server design and administration including knowledge of Oracle and Microsoft SQL. Knowledge of Peoplesoft a plus. Proficiency in using shell scripting and Perl preferred. Knowledge of PHP, ASP, C and C++ programming is a plus. Skill in PC/file server/application server implementation including Intel based server hardware and backup peripherals and software. Ability to configure an F5 Load balancing system is considered a plus. Must be skilled in functional and systems design. Ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Skills in project management. Ability to function as a lead worker over other technical staff. High level of verbal and written communications skills.
