Web Sites That Link to and from BEEP

Best Education E-Practices (BEEP) has links to and from a variety of Web sites, both inside and outside St. Petersburg College. For the benefit of BEEP readers who find its information useful, this issue is a compilation of these diverse sites, all of which offer related materials from sources worldwide for those involved in the e-learning process.

Project Eagle. Web site for SPC's grant project to transform the school into a national model for increasing access to four-year degrees and workforce training for students attending community colleges. (Also the source of funding for BEEP.)

eCampus. One-stop source of information for e-learners at SPC, which has one of the largest academic online programs in the state of Florida.

University Partnership Center. Starting point for information about SPC's expanding offerings of access to baccalaureate and graduate degrees. Presently partnering with 11 colleges and universities inside and outside Florida.

CyberAdvisor. Web site created and maintained by SPC's full-time virtual counselor, with links to useful information, both internal and external, of all kinds for e-students.

Project Eagle Research Capsules (PERC). Series of occasional publications done by the editor of BEEP summarizing the latest research related to e-learning, both within SPC and throughout the country.

Papers and Presentations. Project Eagle Web page with links to more than a dozen PowerPoint presentations and papers given by SPC faculty and staff at e-learning conferences.

Policies, Procedures, and Forms. Variety of written documents created for the administration of online courses, such as e-course development, copyright procedures, and student satisfaction surveys.

Sample Online Course. Web site that gives prospective e-learners a chance to experience an online course. The subject of the sample course is an introduction to online learning.

Evaluation. Summary of the self-evaluation process SPC uses for Project Eagle to assess its achievements in the delivery of e-learning. Includes a general plan and the answers to six specific questions for self-analysis.

Gonzalez-Major, JoAnn. Philadelphia University (PA). Instructional Technology. A collection of links on the subject of IT, including glossaries, learning theories, professional organizations, and other resources that Professor Gonzalez-Major has compiled to supplement her courses.

Coastal Carolina University (SC). EdConnect. Eclectic collection of sources on education that includes links to information on various aspects of e-learning.

Institute of Technical Education (Singapore). Useful Links for Teachers. Lists that include teacher resources, best practices, calendars, journals and individual teacher pages/portfolios.

Kentucky Virtual University. Faculty Resources. Probably the most regularly updated list of BEEPs outside SPC, along with other course development resources for e-structors.

Oregon University System. Distance Learning. Part of a collection of links that include accessibility resources, networks/organizations, online journals/periodicals, virtual universities and higher education associations/foundations.

Sheffield College (UK). Online Learning - Web Links, Internet, Online Learning. Web site from England with a diverse listing of e-learning tips.

Sinclair Community College (OH).  Delta Lab Services Page. Useful Links. One page of a site set up to assist faculty in becoming more familiar with technology.

Texas A & M University. Educational Technology Resource - Staying Current and Getting the Answers: Electronic Journals and Lists. Annotated links designed to give faculty access to the best available information about educational technology.

University of Tennessee. Weblearning Resources. Educators' resource that focuses on web-based learning in higher educations, especially for at-a-distance adult learners. Catalogs tools, topics and issues of interest to those developing Web-based initiatives.

Community College Baccalaureate Association. Articles Published. List of sources published on the subject of baccalaureate degrees offered by community colleges.

Consortium of Distance Education. Distance Education Resources. Resource list for members of a 33-member consortium hosted by Burlington Community College (NJ) designed to acquire and share knowledge about state-of-the-art distance learning in higher education.

Development Gateway. E-Learning Content Browser. Links to information worldwide about online learning on a site developed to help communities, organizations and individuals share ideas to reduce poverty.

E-Learning Centre (UK). Hardware and Devices for Learning. List of tools that includes one of BEEP's looks at leading edge technologies, profiled in April 2001 and March 2002.

Florida Community College Distance Learning Consortium. Resources. Select list of links for virtual instruction by a statewide organization.

German University for Administrative Sciences. Links - E-Learning Portals. German site with a variety of links for e-learning, multimedia, technology and more.

Human Value Co. (Japan). Unusual, bi-lingual, collection of e-learning resources assembled by a Japanese company offering new approaches for individual, team and organizational learning.

Instructional Technology Council.  Distance Education Links & Resources. Wide variety of useful links by an organization that provides leadership, information and resources to expand and enhance e-learning through the use of technology.

League for Innovation in the Community College. Transforming Learning Connections Learning Links. Lists of links with innovative solutions in areas that include online writing, teacher preparation, course development, transfer education, student support, mentoring and more.

Michigan Community College Association for Development, Assessment and Research. Best Practice Education Websites. Part of a link library maintained by a statewide organization of community colleges.

NJEdge.Net. NJVU News. Lists of newsworthy e-learning items by a broadband statewide network for New Jersey's colleges and universities.

Texas Education Coordinating Board. Distance Education Resources. List of links supplied to the board by the Western Interstate Cooperative for Higher Education.
