St. Petersburg College Results of Student Survey of Online Instruction

Fall Session 2001

Administering a student survey of satisfaction with instruction has long been a practice at St. Petersburg College (SPC). Over the years, survey forms have been designed for traditional lecture classes, labs, telecourses and, most recently, online offerings.

Below are the results of the latest student survey of online instruction, which was administered during the last two weeks of class in December 2001. The averages for each question are based on a scale of satisfaction from 1, the lowest, to 7, the highest.

Of the 2911 students taking online courses, 1375 (47%) completed the survey. In the chart that follows the online survey, their responses are compared to those of students taking traditional (lecture) courses throughout the college.
