Introduction to Music course, featuring the Florida Orchestra
October 20 to December 19
This three-credit course is a general survey of the world’s greatest music and its composers, with emphasis on the development of intelligent listening. This second modmester course (Oct. 20-Dec. 19) is designed in a blended format and includes:
- online assignments
- attendance at four Florida Orchestra concerts
- five on-campus sessions
Florida Orchestra concert dates
Tuition for this course includes admission to the following Masterworks concerts at St. Petersburg’s Mahaffey Theater:
- Oct. 25
- Nov. 8
- Nov. 22
- Dec. 13
Pre-concert lectures are at 7 p.m. The concerts begin at 8 p.m. Attendance is required.
On-campus sessions
The class also will meet in face-to-face sessions from 7 to 8 p.m. on Oct. 22, Nov. 5, Nov. 19, Dec. 10 and from 6 to 10 p.m. on Dec. 17.
