Cory Hall currently serves as Adjunct Instructor of Humanities at St. Petersburg College, Adjunct Professor of Music at Eckerd College, and organist at Anona United Methodist Church, in Largo. He holds degrees from the University of Kansas (Doctor of Musical Arts), Eastman School of Music (Master of Music), and California State University, Sacramento (Bachelor of Music).
Hall is a pianist as well as scholar. He has presented papers and lecture-demonstrations for the American Musicological Society, College Music Society, and Kansas and Florida State Music Teachers Associations, and has articles and reviews published in Clavier and American Music Teacher. The Sacramento Bee wrote about one of his performances, “Hall played two works of towering artistic content and difficulty with a power and a finish that were startling. Hall was all over the piano, but always conscious of the magic the notes were designed to evoke. It was an impressive performance.”
Since September, Hall has been busy making videos for YouTube (on the “BachScholar” channel) and is quickly becoming one of the most prolific and popular classical pianists on YouTube, presenting video and audio performances of a myriad of styles ranging from Bach to ragtime. He is also working on a book, “Breaking the Bach Tempo Code”, which uses mathematics and logic to prove the precise tempos Bach intended for all his works. (Please visit www.BachScholar.com)
